Structure and Functions of Glove Box

Glove box is a laboratory equipment that fills the tank with high-purity inert gas and circularly filters out the active substances in it. It is also called true empty hand box, inert gas protection box, etc.

1. Structure of the glove box

It is mainly composed of main box and transition chamber. If the user has other special requirements, it can also be designed and manufactured as required.

There are two (or more) glove operation interfaces on the main box, which are distributed in the front (or front and rear) of the box, so that the operation box can be operated by one (or several) people at the same time, which improves the service efficiency of the box. In addition, there are observation windows in the front (or front and rear) of the glove box, so that the operator can clearly observe the operation process in the box, so that the operation process can be visually displayed in front of the operator. The valve of the transition chamber is provided with an air extraction and inflation nozzle, which can be accessed when air extraction or inflation is required. The main box body is also equipped with valves and nozzles, which can be used by users when they need to maintain air pressure balance and deflate or inflate the main box body (the three-way valve between the glove ports can also be used for deflation if necessary). A lighting fluorescent lamp is installed above the front observation window of the main box.

The transition chamber is the transition space between the main box and the outside of the box. It is composed of two sealed doors, two valves and a chamber. The inner and outer doors can effectively isolate the connection between the main box and the outside world, so that things inside and outside the box can enter and exit when the main box is isolated from the atmosphere, thus avoiding the trouble of repeatedly vacuumizing and inflating the main box.

2. Function of glove box

1) Closed circulation: the vacuum glove box and the gas purification system form a closed circulation system, and the gas purification system provides the gas circulation power.

2) Man machine interaction: equipped with color touch screen and Chinese interface to realize man-machine interaction and convenient operation

3) Automatic control (the system is controlled by the integration of man-machine interface of color touch screen and PLC program control system)

   ★ Realization function: manual / automatic control of box pressure;

   ★ Purification status of manual / automatic control gas purification system;

   ★ Automatically control the reduction process of the gas purification system;

   ★ Reduction, purification and conversion purification column of manual / automatic purification system (when double purification columns are configured);

   ★ Automatic box atmosphere alarm;

4) Reduction and regeneration

The purification system adopts renewable / reduced purification materials, and the reduction procedure is automatically controlled by the system;

During reduction and regeneration, power supply and mixed gas of hydrogen (5-10%) and inert gas shall be provided.

5) Anti misoperation: the system automatically detects the working conditions and equipment operation status through the PLC program control system. In case of any error, the system sends out the prompt instruction of incorrect operation or insufficient conditions, the equipment operation is safer and the operator can use the equipment more conveniently.
