What’s the function of lithium battery formation?

A lithium-ion Battery formation is activated by a single charge just after it is produced, similar to the way a floppy disk is "formatted". The battery can only start charging and discharging normally after the transformation is completed. The principle is simply that the first charge of the battery activates the active material inside the battery and creates a dense film on the surface of the anode to protect the entire chemical interface.

The forming temperature of lithium battery process mainly affects the forming effect by affecting the viscosity and conductivity of electrolyte and the ion diffusion rate of electrode material. Generally, the higher the temperature, the lower the electrolyte viscosity, the higher the conductivity of the electrolyte, the faster the ion diffusion rate of the electrode material, so the smaller the polarization, the better the effect of the formation.

Lithium battery formation is an essential process in the production of lithium batteries, which plays a vital role in the performance of lithium batteries.
