What Is the Difference Between Cell Capacity Grading and OCV/ACIR Sorting?

Cell Capacity Grading: Uses controlled charge-discharge testing to measure each cell’s capacity and group cells according to the results.


OCV/ACIR Sorting: Measures open-circuit voltage (OCV) and AC internal resistance (ACIR), then sorts cells according to preset limits.


The two processes assess different cell characteristics and support cell matching before pack assembly. OCV/ACIR sorting does not measure discharge capacity and cannot replace capacity grading.
