The production process of Pouch cell lithium battery

The main processes in the production of pouch cell lithium batteries are pole piece, installation and formation.


1. The pole piece process.

The main purpose of the pole piece process is to make the core components-positive and negative pole pieces, which are divided into four processes: homogenization, coating, rolling, and cutting. This process is all run in a fully automatic closed system to ensure environmental protection and safety in production.


2. Installation process.

The installation process is to assemble the produced pole pieces into lithium battery cells. The process is divided into five processes: punching, lamination, welding, heat sealing, and injection. The first four processes are all physical assembly processes. Any harmful waste occurs, and the whole process of the final step of liquid injection needs to be completed in a confined space.


3. Formation process.

The forming process mainly includes four processes: aging, charging and discharging, vacuuming and test sorting. Aging is to leave the battery at room temperature or high temperature for a period of time, so that the electrolyte is absorbed by the inside of the lithium battery; charging and discharging is to charge the battery from an empty state to a fully charged state to activate the battery; drawing a vacuum is the battery The interior is evacuated to a vacuum condition to ensure the performance and shape of the pouch cell battery; the test is a detailed inspection of the internal resistance, voltage, insulation and other aspects of the lithium battery by the testing system.


In summary, due to the special production process, the production and production of lithium batteries requires a stable internal structure and strong welding of the positive and negative electrodes.
